The Frozen Beauty

Tsomoriri camps are magical and unbelievable in the night when you witness the sky full of twinkling stars and vast land spread near you. At an elevation of 240 kms from Leh, Tsomoriri Lake is one of the largest Lakes in the region and remains frozen in winters.

There is no other way than spending a night in camps in Tsomoriri. Encompassed by snow clad mountains, the lake is fed by snow water. Tsomoriri is the adventurer’s delight and has a lot more to offer apart from the magical lake. You can spend hours sitting along the Lake and gazing at the mountains and skies.

The lake is an important breeding point for avifauna species and as many as 34 species of birds including 14 species of water birds such as Black-necked Cranes endangered, Black-necked Grebe.

Also, you can visit Korzok Monastery, a 400 year old Tibetan monastery. The region has ample amount of wildlife which include the famous Ladakhi Bharal, also known as Blue Sheep, and the Himalayan mountain goat.
